The Teen Ambassador Program is a competitive volunteer opportunity for high school students ages 15 to 18 who are interested in healthcare and passionate about helping others. Selected students serve as ambassadors for Decatur Morgan Hospital, supporting patients, families, and staff while gaining valuable real world experience and leadership skills.
Ambassadors volunteer across several hospital areas, including patient services, information desks, outpatient care, and family support. Participants also take part in educational sessions, mentorship opportunities, and career talks with healthcare professionals, along with training in customer service, communication, and hospital protocols.
Students must commit to at least 16 hours per week during the program and demonstrate strong academics, character, and a genuine desire to serve. The application process includes an application form, personal statement, recommendation letter, parental consent, and transcript, followed by a panel interview. Only 10 students are selected each year.
This elite program is designed to inspire service, build confidence, and provide early exposure to healthcare careers, helping students grow personally and professionally while making a meaningful impact at Decatur Morgan Hospital.
